Review: Gifted, Bullied, Resilient: A Brief Guide for Smart Families
I love Pamela Price’s new book, Gifted, Bullied, Resilient: A Brief Guide for Smart Families. It is simple, clear, precise, strong, and comforting.
I read the book on the plane yesterday and found that I fell into a well of answers to questions that I didn’t know that I had been wanting to ask forever. What is bullying? How was I bullied? What did I learn from being bullied? Did I adopt the role of bully and how has that integrated into my personality? How many regrets do I have in not stepping in to stop bullying? How can I do a better job as an educator to reverse the tide of bullying? Where was Pamela Price and this book when my son was young?
Gifted, Bullied, Resilient is a wonderful opportunity for parents of gifted children to get their heads around the system of bullying. I wish that I had this book when my son was young. I would have had a better understanding of the signs of bullying and would have done a better job to support him. Talented outlier children are a unique bunch that do not fit into the norm. Pamela does a great job of helping us to make these connections.
Thank you Pam.
