Self-directed learning flourishes when teens have the freedom to make interest-powered choices. It takes practice, and ideally, a supportive community where aspiring self-directed learners can experiment and explore, reflect and revise, connect and contribute. In the doing, teens develop a rich set of skills for lifelong learning, creative expression, and innovation.
